Before you add an addon domain make sure that the domain is registered and using the same name servers as your primary domain is using
a) Login to the cpanel of your website
b) Search for Domains menu and click on Addon domains
c) Now you should see domain name , username / directory and password fields
d) Enter the domain name and it will populate the directory name
e) Mention the password in password field
f) Now click on Add domain button
